If there’s one fascinating cultural thing people outside of the Nordics may not be aware of, it’s local rednecks appropriating the aesthetics of american rednecks. I’m not kidding, it’s a thing. Occasionally you will see a guy with a gun-shaped decoration and confederate flag sticker on his car and a tattoo of a naked chick with a war bonnet on a desert background.
Like dude. You’ve never been to a desert. You’ve never seen a firearm irl. You couldn’t name when the US had a civil war or what it was about. You’ve never met an american, native or otherwise. You’ve never been further south than Estonia. Bruh why.
PLEASE tell me people on tumblr have been keeping up with that wannabe riot grrl band with disney-level “punk” aesthetics that came out of nowhere and people are calling them an industry plant because im so invested in this
ok so basically this band called the tramp stamps dropped a teaser for this song on tiktok that people quickly starting mocking because of the very fetishizing girlboss “i wish i was gay” lyrics and their very vanilla punk look. i’d link the original video but they removed the sound because everyone was making fun of it so here’s the music video.
what came into question quickly after was 1) their very “disney” punk aesthetics & corny half-baked “feminist” themes 2) the fact they’ve only been a thing since november 2021 but somehow already have a website with animated graphics, merchandise, and full music videos 3) the fact none of them looked like this like eight months ago 4) the fact there’s a “stan account” on twitter that is absolutely a sock puppet run by one of them
there’s so much more that we could go into but that’s the major gist of it so far
